Cloud Consultant
Spectrum IT are working with a fast-growing Managed Service Provider seeking a Modern Infrastructure Consultant to join their Professional Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong engineer looking to step into a consultancy or architect-style role, delivering projects across modern Microsoft and Azure cloud environments while influencing service design and customer solutions. This is a hybrid working role based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.
About the Role
You’ll be part of the Professional Services team, delivering a mix of technical delivery, presales, and service design.
The role allows you to:
- Lead and deliver customer projects from initial scoping through to implementation and handover
- Advise customers on best practice and help shape their technology roadmap
- Contribute to the development of new services and internal process improvements
- Support junior team members through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Participate in customer workshops, on-site deployments, and strategic solution design

What We’re Looking For Essential:
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure or Azure cloud projects end-to-end
- Strong Microsoft technology background: Azure (IaaS, PaaS,Azure Virtual Desktop), Azure management tools (Arc, Defender), hybrid environments, networking, Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V
- Exposure to presales, solution design, or customer engagement
- Experience in MSP, service provider, or multi-environment roles
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers
- Knowledge of ITIL / ISO-aligned environments and structured delivery processes
Desirable:
- Experience delivering modern Microsoft solutions in line with the Azure Well-Architected Framework
- Networking expertise(e.g., SonicWall, Cisco, Ubiquiti)
- Experience with virtualisation platforms, Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), or Software Defined Storage (S2D)
- Exposure to security design reviews across Microsoft, Active Directory, and networking environments
- Experience working in a high-growth, competitive environment with a strong commercial mindset
