IT Security Engineer

Own vulnerability management and help shape day to day security across a European environment, working hands on with Microsoft security tools and internal IT teams to drive real remediation.

IT Security Engineer

Hybrid working: 3 days in the office
Salary up to £55,000

This is a broad, hands on security role in a small, collaborative team where you will take the lead on vulnerability management while also supporting wider security activity across the business.
You will work closely with infrastructure, end user computing and other IT teams to identify issues, coordinate remediation and help strengthen the overall security posture. It is well suited to someone who already has solid security experience and wants a varied role with scope to keep developing.

What you will be doing

• Lead vulnerability management activity across systems and endpoints
• Track remediation work and work closely with internal teams to make sure actions are completed
• Help strengthen cloud and endpoint security controls across the Microsoft environment
• Support incident response activity and security investigations
• Maintain and improve security configurations across Microsoft 365 and related platforms
• Contribute to identity and access management, including least privilege, MFA and access controls
• Support email security, including policy configuration, threat investigation and remediation
• Assist with the adoption of recognised security controls and good practice across the business
• Help automate repeatable security tasks where appropriate

What they are looking for

• Commercial experience across the Microsoft security stack, especially Defender, Intune, Azure and Entra ID / Azure AD
• Hands on experience with vulnerability management, patching or remediation workflows
• Good understanding of broader IT infrastructure, networking and Active Directory
• Experience supporting security incidents or investigations
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with different teams across the business
• A proactive, practical and collaborative approach

Helpful extras

• Rapid7 experience
• Email security experience
• PowerShell scripting
• Exposure to security frameworks such as CIS or NIST
• Relevant certifications such as AZ-500, MS-500, SC-100 or similar
