Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support: Provide advanced 2nd and 3rd line IT support, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues. Focus on finding the root cause and implementing permanent solutions.
  • Platform Expertise: Work with Linux and Windows platforms, with a willingness to deepen knowledge in both. Manage and optimise public cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
  • Virtualisation & Storage: Administer virtualisation technologies and storage arrays.
  • Patch Management & Backup: Manage patching processes using software like SCCM or Intune, and handle backup concepts and software.
  • Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts using Shell and PowerShell for automation and efficiency.
  • Security & Protection: Oversee endpoint protection and anti-virus management, preferably with SentinelOne.
  • Incident Management: Use commercial Incident, Problem, and Change management tools
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and incident resolutions. Provide regular reports as needed.
  • Business Continuity: Understand and apply principles of business continuity and disaster recovery, deploying solutions that ensure high availability of IT services.


Experience:

    • Demonstrable experience in 2nd or 3rd line IT support.
    • Experience with Linux and/or Windows platforms.
    • Familiarity with public cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform.
    • Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, VxRail, Nutanix).
    • Experience with storage arrays (Dell Compellent, HPE Nimble).
    • Experience with patch management software (Ivanti, SCCM/Intune).
    • Knowledge of backup concepts and software.
    • Experience with Dell and HP server hardware.
    • Proficiency in Shell and PowerShell scripting.
    • Endpoint protection and anti-virus management experience (SentinelOne).
    • Experience with commercial incident, problem, and change management tools (BMC Remedy, Halo preferred).
