Senior Developer
Work across both legacy and modern Microsoft environments and help lead a genuine migration programme rather than just maintain old systems.
The business is growing and needs an experienced developer who can help move a core platform forward. Some of the estate is still in VB.NET, but the direction of travel is clear: modernising the codebase, improving architecture and helping drive the shift towards a more modern C# and .NET environment, with Azure and better engineering practices playing a bigger part.
You would be joining a software team that supports applications used in a regulated healthcare setting. That means the work matters, but it also means security, reliability and data handling standards need to be taken seriously.
Senior .NET Developer
£60,000
Remote with quarterly office visits
This role is mainly back-end focused and would suit someone with strong C# / .NET experience who is also comfortable working with VB.NET. The split is roughly 75% C# / 25% VB.NET, so this is not purely legacy support. The real focus is helping drive the migration from older VB.NET systems into a more modern C# and .NET architecture.
You would be joining an established team of circa 10 engineers
What matters most:
- strong commercial C# / .NET experience
- VB.NET experience
- solid back-end development skills
- SQL / database understanding
- ability to improve and modernise existing systems
Nice to have:
- Azure
- CI/CD
- React
- Xamarin / .NET MAUI
The applications sit in a regulated healthcare environment, so reliability, security and good engineering judgement matter.
