Contract UX/UI Designer

Job Description

Spectrum IT are seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to support the redesign and modernisation of a business-critical B2B customer portal for a well-established UK organisation undergoing a significant digital transformation programme. This will be an onsite working role in Poole, Dorset, and has been deemed OUTSIDE IR35.The successful contractor will work closely with senior stakeholders, product and technology teams to define user journeys, facilitate workshops, and produce high-quality designs that will guide the development of a new customer-facing platform. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the user experience of a core revenue-generating product from discovery through to delivery.Project OverviewThe organisation is replacing a legacy customer portal with a modern web application built using Angular and integrated with existing backend APIs.

The platform is used by business customers to search, purchase and manage products online via account-based access.The new solution will initially focus on a streamlined set of core user journeys, including:Login and authenticationProduct searchSearch resultsProduct detail pagesCustomer account managementBasket managementCheckout processThe goal is to create a modern, intuitive user experience aligned with the organisation's recently redesigned corporate website and wider digital strategy.ResponsibilitiesLead UX discovery activities and stakeholder workshopsMap existing and future-state user journeysProduce wireframes, user flows and prototypesCreate high-fidelity UI designs for a modern web applicationCollaborate with Product, Marketing and Technology stakeholdersEnsure consistency between the portal and wider digital brand experienceWork closely with front-end and full-stack developers during implementationTranslate business requirements into intuitive user experiencesIdentify opportunities to improve usability, accessibility and customer engagementSupport ongoing enhancement and feature design throughout the project life cycleRequired ExperienceProven experience delivering UX/UI design for web-based applicationsStrong understanding of user-centred design principlesExperience facilitating workshops and gathering requirements from stakeholdersAbility to create user journeys, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designsExperience working within Agile delivery environmentsStrong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX and UI design workExperience collaborating closely with software development teamsDesirable ExperienceExperience designing B2B platforms, portals or eCommerce applicationsFamiliarity with Angular-based development environmentsExperience designing transactional customer journeysUnderstanding of accessibility best practicesExperience working on platform modernisation or digital transformation programmesToolsFigmaGeneral design tooling - alternative design tools will be considered a bonususing modern prototyping and collaboration toolsInterview ProcessSingle-stage interview processCandidates must provide portfolio examples alongside their CVIf you are a UX/UI Designer who enjoys working closely with stakeholders to shape user experiences and bring modern digital products to life, we would love to hear from you.Spectrum IT Recruitment (South) Limited is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.TPBN1_UKTJ
