Associate Mechanical Engineer (Management Role)

About the Role:

As an Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will work across a range of projects throughout EMEA while acting as a key member of the management team. This role requires a proactive problem-solver who can apply current technologies and make independent technical decisions in a fast-paced environment. You will be an experienced engineer with strong commercial awareness, collaborating with colleagues to ensure high standards in design processes and engineering delivery.

About You:

  • Hybrid working arrangement based in UK or Ireland, with office attendance as required
  • Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering (Chartership advantageous but not essential)
  • 10+ years’ experience within mechanical engineering, ideally in data centres, industrial, high-tech, or commercial sectors
  • 3+ years’ experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • 3+ years’ project management experience across mechanical and electrical projects
  • Strong communication, presentation, and organisational skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Passion for innovation and adoption of emerging technologies
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards in engineering processes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review technical designs to ensure scope and intent are fully understood
  • Optimise project functionality and cost efficiency
  • Ensure effective collaboration between mechanical and electrical disciplines
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring QA/QC and delivery targets are met
  • Monitor project costs and identify opportunities for savings
  • Support resource planning, including outsourcing where required
  • Interpret contracts and ensure compliance with terms and conditions
  • Engage with senior leadership on industry trends and new technologies
  • Support business development and new project acquisition
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners
  • Contribute to internal quality assurance standards and processes
  • Oversee delivery of multiple large-scale projects
  • Conduct team development through regular reviews and mentoring
  • Support training and performance improvement initiatives
  • Promote understanding and implementation of new technologies
