Salary - up to £110,000 + Discretionary Bonus

Spencer Rose are partnering with a leading global organisation to appoint a Global Data Engineering Manager. This role is designed for an experienced people-leader who can shape, scale, and elevate a distributed Data Engineering function operating across the UK, Dubai, and Australia.

Role Overview

As the Global Data Engineering Manager, you will take full ownership of the leadership, performance, and strategic direction of a multi-region Data Engineering team. You will set the vision for engineering excellence, establish consistent delivery practices, and ensure your teams are empowered, aligned, and operating at a high standard.

The Global Data Engineering Manager will have the following responsibilities

• Lead global data engineering teams: Provide clear direction, foster strong engineering culture, and drive high performance across teams working on data platforms, SharePoint, and Power Apps.

• Set and enforce engineering standards: Embed robust delivery practices, maintain sprint discipline, and ensure predictable, high-quality output across all regions.

• Oversee vendor engineering partners: Manage external engineering teams and technology vendors, ensuring alignment to organisational standards and maximising value from vendor relationships.

• Drive strategic planning and execution: Guide roadmap development, prioritisation, and resource planning to support global business objectives.

The Global Data Engineering Manager will need to have the following skills/experience

• Proven leadership of Data Engineering teams: Experience managing a team of 5+ Data Engineers, ideally across multiple regions or time zones.

• Hands-on expertise with modern data platforms: Strong working knowledge of Databricks, Power Platform, and Azure Fabric.

• Azure cloud experience: Demonstrable background delivering within Azure-based data environments.

• Vendor management capability: Experience overseeing third-party engineering teams and ensuring delivery quality.
