£130,000-£150,000 per annum + annual discretionary bonus

A leading City of London based banking organisation is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to join its London-based IT Architecture function. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping and governing the technology landscape, ensuring infrastructure solutions are robust, secure, and aligned to enterprise-wide strategy.

As an Infrastructure Architect, you will provide governance, oversight, and subject matter expertise across all infrastructure domains. You will work closely with technology teams to evaluate solutions, define architectures, and ensure all change initiatives adhere to organisational standards, policies, and strategic direction.

The organisation is pleased to offer this role on a hybrid basis, which requires 3 days per week in their City of London offices, therefore you must be within a reasonable commuting distance to London.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide architectural leadership across infrastructure domains, shaping domain strategies, services, and solutions.
• Govern technology change, ensuring projects and releases undergo appropriate due diligence, planning, and engineering.
• Produce high-quality architecture artefacts, design patterns, and documentation.
• Work with senior technology leaders to prioritise the infrastructure book of work.
• Build strong relationships across IT to understand business operations and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
• Evaluate technology products, identify gaps, and support adoption processes.
• Develop and maintain enterprise infrastructure standards to ensure compatibility and consistency.
• Collaborate with technical leads and vendors to define technical roadmaps and strategies.
• Provide architectural guidance to IT and infrastructure teams, ensuring adherence to design standards.
• Extend architectural standards and strategies to regional offices through effective communication and collaboration.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect or similar role with a minimum of 5 years in this capacity.
• Experience within a banking or financial services environment is essential.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure design principles, risk management, and modern IT technologies.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience producing clear, concise architectural documentation.
• Relevant certifications (eg, TOGAF) are highly desirable.
