We're looking for an experienced Security Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and safeguarding our technology landscape.

In this influential position, you'll work across Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Operations, Engineering, and Cyber Security teams to ensure our platforms, services, and cloud environments are secure by design. You'll help define the security standards, architectural principles, and control frameworks that enable innovation while protecting critical systems, data, and business services.

As a key member of our Technology Design Authority (TDA), you'll provide expert guidance on strategic technology decisions, drive security best practices, and ensure security remains at the heart of everything we build.

What You'll Be DoingSecurity Architecture & Design

  • Define and evolve cloud security architectures across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
  • Create reusable security patterns, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Provide security assurance for new technologies, platforms, and cloud solutions.
  • Lead security design reviews and contribute to governance activities through the Technology Design Authority.
  • Champion secure-by-design principles across the organisation.

Governance, Risk & Assurance

  • Ensure solutions align with security policies, enterprise architecture principles, and organisational risk appetite.
  • Identify security risks within proposed designs and develop pragmatic mitigation strategies.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and security assurance activities.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of security standards, principles, and governance frameworks.

Cloud & Platform Security

  • Shape security strategies for cloud infrastructure and services, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Define approaches for identity and access management, privileged access, and federation.
  • Provide architectural oversight for data protection, encryption, key management, and secure data sharing.
  • Ensure effective monitoring, threat detection, logging, and incident response capabilities are Embedded into cloud environments.

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work closely with Enterprise, Solution, Data, and AI Architects to deliver secure end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Platform, and DevSecOps teams to embed security within delivery pipelines and operating models.
  • Provide expert security guidance throughout project life cycles, from concept through to live service.
  • Support cloud optimisation initiatives by balancing security, resilience, performance, and cost.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay ahead of emerging security threats, industry developments, and cloud security trends.
  • Drive improvements across security architecture, governance, and control frameworks.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for security and cloud technology across the organisation.

About You

You'll be an experienced Security Architect who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and excellent stakeholder management skills.

You understand how to balance security requirements with business objectives and can confidently influence decisions at both technical and executive levels.

Most importantly, you'll be passionate about enabling teams to innovate securely while maintaining high standards of security, resilience, and compliance.

What We're Looking ForEssential Experience

  • Significant experience designing and assuring security architectures within complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security, including identity, network, platform, and data security.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure architecture and security expertise.
  • Experience applying security principles across large-scale programmes, projects, and operational environments.
  • Proven experience working within architecture governance forums, design authorities, or review boards.
  • Understanding of modern DevSecOps practices and secure software delivery approaches.
  • Experience with cloud security tooling, security posture management, and threat detection capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within regulated, highly governed, or large-scale organisations.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal teams, suppliers, and technology partners.

Desirable Qualifications

  • CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent security certification.
  • Microsoft Azure security certifications.
  • TOGAF, SABSA, or other architecture-related certifications.
  • Additional governance, risk, or security qualifications.
