Lead Scrum Master

We’re recruiting for a Contract Lead Scrum Master that will join a Technology Driven - Financial Services organisation that is known for its high transactional, high scalability software products. As the new Lead Scrum Master you’ll ensure consistency of Agile practices, supports team health and delivery outcomes, and acts as a point of escalation for delivery challenges.

We’re looking for an experienced Scrum Master to guide multiple teams in delivering high-impact work while shaping Agile practices across our organisation. This role combines hands-on team facilitation with leadership and coaching responsibilities for other Scrum Masters within a scaled Agile environment.

This Lead Scrum Master will join on an initial 3 month contract (Inside IR35), with the intention and option to roll over, as the company is embarking on a digital transformation across the business. The team go on-site to their Milton Keynes office 3 days a week.

We’re seeking a Lead Scrum Master that can;

• Champion Agile values and principles to foster collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement across teams and stakeholders.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to align delivery outcomes with strategic business goals.
• Define and evolve governance models, reporting structures, and scaling frameworks that enable sustainable, high-quality delivery.
• Collaborate with Release Train Engineers, Product Management, and System Architects to maintain alignment across the Agile Release Train (ART).
• Prepare teams and Scrum Masters for Program Increment (PI) Planning — ensuring backlogs, dependencies, and objectives are well-defined.
• Facilitate or support SAFe ceremonies, including Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Mentor and develop a small group of Scrum Masters, offering coaching, feedback, and guidance on delivery practices.
