Network Infrastructure Engineer
Well known FinTech is seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and evolve a complex hybrid environment across on-premise sites and multiple cloud platforms. This is a hands-on role combining operational support, project delivery, security enhancement, and infrastructure modernisation.
This role suits a proactive engineer who enjoys driving improvement, embracing change, and contributing to a secure, high-performing network landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and optimise LAN, WAN, wireless, and firewall services across physical and cloud environments
- Manage virtual networks within Azure, AWS and Google Cloud platforms
- Configure and maintain routing protocols (BGP, OSPF/IS-IS), VPNs, IPSEC, GRE, QoS, multicast, and Layer 2/3 connectivity
- Deliver WAN deployments, network migrations, and device lifecycle upgrades
- Administer enterprise firewall and switching technologies
- Maintain telephony and collaboration network services
- Develop standard configurations, documentation, and governance processes
- Automate repeatable tasks using Infrastructure as Code and scripting tools
- Monitor performance, manage capacity, and strengthen resilience
- Implement and enhance security controls in partnership with security teams
- Lead incident resolution end-to-end and contribute to preventative improvements
Skills & Experience:
- Strong expertise in TCP/IP, subnetting, and IP-based networking
- Extensive experience with enterprise networking and next-generation firewalls
- Solid Azure knowledge; AWS experience advantageous
- Familiarity with Terraform (or similar IaC tools) and automation practices
- Good understanding of Windows environments (desktop and server)
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, cloud networking, virtual infrastructure, and storage technologies
- Ability to assess risk, make informed technical decisions, and balance competing priorities
