Sales Executive
Hybrid - Nottinghamshire (2 days office / 3 days home)
Salary: £35,000-£40,000 basic + performance bonus (OTE £50,000-£55,000)Experience: 3+ years
An established UK technology business is looking for an experienced Sales Development Executive to help build and scale the new business pipeline for a growing suite of SaaS and AI-powered products.
With a long history of delivering technology solutions to major retailers, the business is expanding its portfolio of productised software solutions, including AI-powered search, merchandising, image generation and retail assistant technologies.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing commercial team, helping to create a structured, data-led demand generation function.
This is not a junior SDR role and it is not a closing position. It is a commercial development role focused on identifying opportunities, building target account lists, enriching CRM data, executing outreach campaigns, qualifying prospects and generating high-quality pipeline for senior sales stakeholders.
Target Account Research & List Building- Build and maintain target account lists using tools such as Cognism, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, BuiltWith and other research sources
- Identify key decision makers across ecommerce, digital, merchandising, trading, technology and commercial functions
- Research prospect organisations to understand technology stacks, current suppliers, challenges and commercial triggers
- Maintain accurate CRM records, including account notes, contact information, segmentation and outreach activity
- Prioritise accounts based on fit, buying intent and potential commercial value
- Execute personalised outreach campaigns via email, phone and LinkedIn
- Qualify inbound, outbound and partner-generated opportunities
- Understand prospect challenges, priorities, decision-making processes and timelines
- Schedule qualified meetings and product demonstrations for senior stakeholders
- Support follow-up activity and help move prospects through the sales process
- Maintain strong CRM discipline and pipeline accuracy
- Track outreach activity, responses, meetings, objections and next steps
- Produce weekly reports on activity, meetings booked, pipeline creation and opportunity progression
- Ensure all data remains clean, current and actionable
- Work alongside outsourced lead generation and telemarketing partners
- Provide data, account insights and messaging guidance
- Review outcomes and feedback to improve campaign performance
- Help optimise objection handling, qualification criteria and outreach effectiveness
- Focus on generating qualified opportunities rather than simply booking meetings
- Support the development of repeatable sales processes, qualification frameworks and messaging
- Contribute to a scalable, measurable demand generation engine
- 3+ years' experience in Sales Development, Business Development, Lead Generation or Inside Sales
- Experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive
- Strong account research and prospect identification skills
- Experience with tools such as Cognism, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, ZoomInfo or similar
- Confident writing personalised outreach emails and conducting follow-up calls
- Experience qualifying opportunities and booking meetings for senior sales teams
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable discussing technology and software solutions with senior stakeholders
- SaaS, ecommerce, martech, retail technology or software sales experience
- Experience working with outsourced lead-generation partners
- Understanding of ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, BigCommerce or Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Familiarity with AI, search, merchandising or digital commerce technology
- Experience selling into ecommerce, digital, technology or commercial leadership teams
You are commercially curious, methodical and proactive. You enjoy the research side of sales as much as the outreach itself and understand that successful pipeline generation comes from quality, consistency and strong process.
You are comfortable engaging senior decision makers, highly organised, and motivated by building meaningful commercial opportunities rather than relying on volume-based outreach.
