The company has an excellent opportunity for an experienced 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their team based in Needham Market, Suffolk. As one of the 2nd Line Support Engineers you will provide efficient IT support, both remote and on-site, to the company`s diverse client base, with a specific focus on supporting and maintaining the Microsoft server and desktop operating environments.

The 2nd Line Support Engineer key duties include:

  • Utilise investigative lines of questioning to perform effective and informative troubleshooting activities.
  • Managing cloud and on-premises backups solutions.
  • Delivery and installation of end-user hardware.
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware-based technical issues.
  • Supporting and maintaining on-premises and Cloud-based Microsoft Server/Desktop environments.
  • Providing first-line Apple product support.
  • Installation of authorised software to servers, desktops, and laptops as well as Antivirus installation and management.
  • Ensuring security suite and OS updates/upgrades are applied on relevant hardware.
  • Installation of wired and wireless networks if required.
  • Supporting the Sales Team on purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
  • Maintaining/recording purchased software licensing.

The successful candidate will be friendly and approachable with effective communication skills. Have a genuine concern for quality, striving to do an excellent job, as an individual and team member.

A high level of current IT knowledge with a minimum of 3 years` multi-discipline support experience. The initiative to see new opportunities and the ability to assist the business to secure them. Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask. Be proactive and customer-focused to meet contractually agreed service levels. A clean driving license.
