Role Overview:We are looking for an Enterprise Architect to work at the intersection of business strategy and technological capability, ensuring that every system, application, and infrastructure and data component works together towards common objectives.
This role has a global remit across 3 distinct business units, as well as a Group entity, and is accountable for working with architectural peers to set the strategic direction of technology. The successful applicant will be UK based and will have 2 Solution Architects as direct reports, to work on detailed designs and proposals. This role will play a key part in governance forums and engaging business and technical colleagues across the global Group
Your objectives and responsibilities will focus onArchitecture Strategy & Design:
- Develop the business architecture to understand the business capabilities, processes and their alignment to the future strategy.
- Identify the gaps and strategic plans and build this into a multi year roadmap.
- Define enterprise data architecture and promote data as a strategic asset. Model business, information, application, and technology domains.
Business Engagement:
- Regular business engagement to understand business pain points, opportunities and future objectives to ensure IT alignment and the delivery of business outcomes. Design and maintain a prioritisation framework that evaluates business projects against key criteria, ensuring IT initiatives are ranked and prioritised based on their business value.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Assess the current landscape and create and present visuals (heatmaps etc.) to senior leaders that represent key dimensions like costs, risk, application duplication for strategic decision making.
Technology Leadership & Governance:
- Create and maintain a view of the application estate to identify opportunities to reduce costs, reduce risks and optimise investments.
- Identify and assess risks within the IT environment and propose solutions to mitigate.
- Define and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, principles and roadmaps.
- Provide architectural oversight for solution designs and IT initiatives to ensure architectural compliance and maintain compliance with regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
- Facilitate the Technical Design Authority to ensure solutions and procured technology meet internal standards and best practices.
- Ensure interoperability, scalability, security, and resilience across systems.
Innovation:
- Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption for business value.
- Develop and gain approval for technology strategies to set the direction and plan to deliver new capabilities e.g. cyber security, data, integration etc.
- 10+ years in IT, with at least 5 years in enterprise, solution or domain architecture roles within large, complex organisations
- A proven track record of driving business-aligned technology strategies and delivering measurable impact
- Expertise in business, application, data, infrastructure domains
- Understanding of cloud platforms, emerging technologies, and digital transformation trends
- Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture tools e.g. LeanIX, Hopex, Abacus
- Knowledge of modelling frameworks e.g. Archimate
- Vendor and technology evaluation expertise
- Risk management and cybersecurity knowledge
- Change management and stakeholder alignment capabilities

- Have strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical seniors
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex systems and identify opportunities

- Ability to create and interpret architectural models, diagrams, and roadmaps
- Skills in portfolio management and technology rationalisation
- Financial experience to assess cost, value, and ROI of technology investments
