Solution Architect
Solution Architect - Location: Cheltenham, UK
We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join our team. This role will help us define our high-level architecture, and will design solutions to deliver great business outcomes that meet our longer-term strategy.
Role responsibilities- Produce solution options and high-level design documentation based on clear requirements, which are used to conduct technical search and selection activities to source a suitable solution
- Work with IT delivery, including third parties and operations teams, to ensure these designs are correctly translated into lower-level implementation documents and outcomes as part of project delivery
- Recommend IT solutions along with cost, resources, impact and benefits for all planned IT projects to inform year financial planning and annual budget cycle
- Ensure IT solutions align with Group enterprise architecture principles and standards, relevant best practice, and comply with Spirax information/cyber security policies
- Promoting secure-by-design to ensure solutions are secure, that meets compliance requirements, data is protected, and threats/vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated through threat modelling
- Design end-to-end solutions across applications, data, integration and infrastructure (cloud/hybrid), producing architectural artefacts and decision records, and gaining architecture approval
- Create roadmaps & transition states (current interim target), sequencing deliveries, dependencies, and outcomes to be delivered
- Scoping and governing feasibility assessment
- Assessing effort, risk, costs, and complexity for IT solutions
- Defining architecture blueprints where required
- Defining non-functional requirements and assessing their impact
- Providing implementation oversight to ensure we deliver what was agreed
- Providing technical and architectural support and guidance, including researching and understanding of new technologies and how they could deliver value to the Group
- Contribute to the definition of strategy, standards, policies, and approaches that deliver world class IT solutions
- Solid experience of Solution architecture to inform strategic planning and solution sizing, and estimating
- Experience in IT shared services or MSP with a proven track record in delivering IT solutions
- Deep understanding of Microsoft core technologies (e.g. Entra ID, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, Azure fundamentals etc.)
- Hold a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent professional experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., MSP, ITIL, Prince 2, Agile) are highly desirable
- TOGAF certification is preferable
- Current Microsoft M365 and Azure certifications
- Demonstrate Company Core Values at all times
- Have good communication skills and able to present solutions to audiences with various levels of technical understanding
- Have the ability to influence and engage with IT and business stakeholders
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Be pro-active and results-oriented whilst remaining collaborative and fostering a positive working culture
