Job Title: Application Support Analyst
Location: Manchester
Salary/Rate: £400 a day

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Provide day-to-day support for banking and financial applications within the Application Support Group (ASG).
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and functional application issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor system performance and availability using standard monitoring and alerting tools.
• Perform root cause analysis for incidents and implement long-term solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, analysis, and issue investigation.
• Utilise Splunk to analyse logs, create dashboards, and support incident management.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Proven practical experience in application support, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong technical and analytical skills for troubleshooting complex application issues.
• Solid working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and debugging.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk for log monitoring, analysis, and alerting.
• Familiarity with application performance monitoring tools and best practices.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise-level support methodologies.

Additional Information

• This role requires onsite presence 4-5 days per week in Manchester.
• Candidates must be engaged via PAYE through an umbrella company
• The initial contract runs until 31st December 2025, with a strong likelihood of extension.
