Automation Engineer

Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Sheffield
Salary/Rate: Up to £612.50
Start Date: August 2025
Job Type: 6 months contract

Company Introduction
We seek a skilled Automation Engineering with expertise in GIT, Shell Scripting, Ansible, Python FAST API integration, HashiCorp Vault and Linux system administration. Knowledge of YUM repositories, and RPM packaging is a plus.
Note that we are looking for a foundation in DBA skills however it is a broader engineer with the other skills we are really looking for.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
1. Administer and optimize Oracle databases automation for performance and reliability
2. Develop and maintain Shell Scripts for automation.
3. Automate tasks using Ansible.
4. Manage YUM repositories and create RPM packages.
5. Perform Linux system administration and troubleshooting in line with Oracle databases
6. Integrate APIs to streamline database operations.

Required Skills/Experience
1. Proven experience as an Oracle DBA with understanding of Oracle deployed in various patterns eg RAC, Dataguard and VCS.
2. Expertise in Shell Scripting, Ansible, and Linux administration.
3. Experience with YUM repositories and RPM packaging.
4. Knowledge of APIs and SQL Server is a plus.
5. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
