Lead Cyber Security Engineer

Location: Sheffield, UK (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite Mandatory)
Rate: £450-£500 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: 31th August 2027

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Cybersecurity Engineer to join a global Cybersecurity Science & Analytics team responsible for developing next-generation cybersecurity and data analytics capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with expertise in Azure Cloud, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering and DevOps to help build and maintain large-scale cloud data platforms that support advanced cybersecurity analytics.

Working within a collaborative team of cybersecurity specialists, data engineers and cloud professionals, you will design, develop and optimise secure data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and analytics platforms using modern cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable Azure-based data pipelines.

  • Build and optimise ETL processes for large-scale cybersecurity datasets.

  • Develop automated data ingestion and provisioning solutions.

  • Engineer cloud infrastructure following Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.

  • Support production environments, platform operations and continuous improvements.

  • Build Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and automation tooling.

  • Develop solutions using Azure services including Data Factory, Databricks and Data Lake.

  • Improve platform reliability, scalability, security and cloud cost optimisation.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to onboard new enterprise data sources.

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.

About You

You'll be an experienced Cloud, Platform or Data Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and continuously learning new technologies.

You'll have experience designing cloud-native solutions, automating infrastructure and building reliable, scalable data platforms while working within agile engineering teams.

Previous experience in cybersecurity is advantageous but not essential.
