Square One resources are Partnered with several consultancies that have immediate requirements for Devops and Sotware Engineers to support mission Critical projects.

Location: Cheltenham (5 days onsite)
Rate: £600-£700 per day (Outside IR35)
Security Clearance: Active DV/eDV Clearance Required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EDV-cleared Devops and Infrastructure Engineers to support and enhance critical services used within government environments. Working closely with customers, engineers, and stakeholders, you will ensure systems remain secure, reliable, scalable, and high-performing while providing technical consultancy and acting as an escalation point for support queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and support physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Automate deployments and operational processes using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and incident resolution.
• Support customer integrations via REST APIs, SFTP, webhooks, and messaging platforms.
• Manage infrastructure across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve reliability, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills

• Active DV/eDV clearance is a mandatory request, candidates without an active or recently used Enhanced DV clearance will not be considered.
• Strong Linux administration and Scripting experience.
• Knowledge of networking, security protocols, and software architectures.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, and Jenkins
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or InfluxDB.
• Understanding of JSON, XML, CSV, SQL.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
