Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Location: London - 3 days per week in the office
Salary/Rate: Up to £450 per day inside IR35

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team for a contract until the end of the year.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join our engineering team supporting strategic initiatives, including those in the financial services domain. Experience with blockchain technologies is a plus but not mandatory.

1. Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on GCP.
2. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build.
3. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
4. Manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (GKE) and Docker.
5. Monitor system performance and ensure high availability using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Stackdriver.
6. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery pipelines.
7. Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Document infrastructure and deployment processes.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Strong experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
2. Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
3. Proficiency in Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools.
4. Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
5. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build.
6. Solid understanding of cloud networking, security best practices, and DevSecOps principles.
7. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
8. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Exposure to blockchain platforms (e.g., Hyperledger Besu, Ethereum).
2. Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud strategies.
3. Familiarity with DORA metrics, AIOps, or MLOps practices.
4. Certifications such as Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, CKA, or DevOps Leader.
