Location: Uttoxeter, United Kingdom (Fully On-site)
Day Rate: £130 - £140 Per Day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: 03/11/2025
Job Type: 3 Month Contract
Important Information:
Due to the on-site nature of this role and limited public transport options to the office, the successful candidate must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
The Group IT Service Desk Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services across the organisation. The role is responsible for providing first-line technical support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues efficiently and effectively. By delivering timely solutions and excellent customer service, the technician helps minimise downtime, supports business continuity, and enables employees to work productively.
Additionally, the role contributes to IT projects, system upgrades, and process improvements, ensuring that IT services meet the evolving needs of the business. The technician also acts as a key point of contact for end users, guiding them through technical issues, providing clear instructions, and ensuring a positive user experience.
Job Responsibilities/Objectives
- Manage and resolve tickets efficiently, ensuring adherence to SLAs.
- Provide support for desktop and laptop rebuilds.
- Administer and troubleshoot Office 365, including user account management (creation, modification, and deletion).
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues through remote or in-person support.
- Guide users through technical issues over the phone or at their desks.
- Assist with the delivery and support of IT projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, requests, and resolutions.
Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows 10.
- Strong knowledge of Office 365 administration and troubleshooting.
- Experience with software installation and general system maintenance.
- Familiarity with ticket management systems and task prioritisation.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
- Exposure to SCCM for system management.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
