Engineer NextGen IAM
Location: Sheffield, UK
Contract: 6 months
Rate: £425 per day, Inside IR35
Working Pattern: 3 days per week onsite
We are currently recruiting for an Engineer, NextGen IAM to join a large enterprise technology environment, working on modern, cloud-native Identity and Access Management solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain cloud-native identity services and platform components.
- Build APIs, microservices and event-driven integrations.
- Develop secure integrations with enterprise identity platforms and third-party services.
- Implement authentication, authorisation and identity federation capabilities.
- Support Human Identity, Agent Identity and Workload Identity solutions.
- Develop and maintain Policy-as-Code integrations and authorisation services.
- Build and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations.
- Participate in design reviews and peer code reviews.
- Troubleshoot application, platform and integration issues.
- Support deployments across development, testing and production environments.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Support monitoring, logging and observability capabilities.
- Produce technical documentation, operational procedures and runbooks.
- Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability and resilience requirements.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineers, Security Engineers, Architects and Product Owners.
- Support production incidents and problem management activities.
- Identify automation and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies and team activities.
- Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and engineering best practices.
About You
You should have:
- Experience with cloud-native application development.
- Strong API development and REST API expertise.
- Experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture patterns.
- Hands-on Kubernetes experience.
- Experience with Git-based source control.
- Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code principles and tools.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices.
- Experience with identity standards including OAuth2, OIDC, SAML and SCIM.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices.
- Experience with software testing and automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively within complex enterprise environments.
