Job Title: Python Developer
Location: Sheffield
Day Rate: £350-385 Inside IR35
Start Date: September 2026

Duration: 27th November 2026 (initially).

We are currently recruiting for a Python Developer to join a large enterprise technology environment, developing scalable automation solutions to streamline database operations and deployment processes.

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Python-based automation solutions, building APIs for database management operations and supporting applications across containerised environments.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for database operations and rollout activities
• Build and integrate APIs for database management operations and automation workflows
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues across Scripting, APIs, and containerised environments
• Containerise and deploy applications and services using Docker and Kubernetes

Required Skills/Experience

• Hands-on experience with API development using Python and FastAPI
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
• Solid experience with Python development in production environments
• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience enhancing observability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry
• Knowledge of enterprise tools such as Control-M, TrueSight, Guardium, Tenable Nessus, or Delinea
• Understanding of security practices and software development within highly regulated environments
• End-to-end experience with CI/CD pipelines including build, test, and deployment processes
