Working Location: York - 2-3 days per week Salary/Rate: £525-£545 a day Inside IR35 Start Date: October Job Type:12-month Contract

Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity available with a leading Insurance Sector client, who are undergoing a major technology transformation programme. They are looking for an experienced QE Architect to provide strategic and hands-on Quality Engineering leadership across a large portfolio spanning Digital CX, CRM, Data, AI, Cloud and Integration.

As QE Architect, you will be responsible for defining and driving the Quality Engineering strategy across a complex technology transformation portfolio, establishing modern engineering practices that improve automation, release confidence and overall software quality.

1. Define and govern the enterprise QE strategy and architecture, establishing standards for automation, continuous testing, quality gates, risk-based assurance and release readiness across multiple transformation programmes.

2. Architect and evolve automation frameworks covering UI, API, data, integration, performance, accessibility, security and AI testing, ensuring automation is Embedded throughout CI/CD pipelines.

3. Drive AI-led Quality Engineering, including the adoption of AI-assisted test generation, intelligent defect analysis, self-healing automation, prompt testing, ML validation and Agentic AI testing approaches.

4. Provide quality architecture across a diverse technology landscape, including Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, OutSystems, Azure APIM, GCP data platforms, APIs, event-driven integrations and AI/ML products.

5. Champion shift-left and engineering-led quality practices, promoting TDD, BDD, continuous testing and risk-based testing within Agile, DevOps

Required Technical Expertise

Programming Languages

Deep hands-on expertise in:

• TypeScript, JavaScript, C#
• Python, PyTest, SQL

Strong understanding of:

• Object-oriented programming
• API development and testing
• Data engineering concepts
• Cloud-native architectures
• Microservices architectures
