Job Type: Contract - 6 months
Hybrid Role need someone on site 2 days a week in either Paddington or Reading

We're recruiting for an experienced Senior Qualys & Fortinet FortiProxy Engineer to support a major enterprise security transformation within a leading telecommunications organisation.

This is a hands-on contract role focused on expanding an established Qualys VMDR platform while providing expertise in Fortinet FortiProxy, enterprise networking, and vulnerability management across a large, complex hybrid infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Expand and optimise Qualys VMDR, CSAM and WAS.
• Configure and support Fortinet FortiProxy appliances.
• Optimise vulnerability scanning, asset discovery and remediation processes.
• Troubleshoot enterprise network and scanning issues.
• Integrate Qualys with ServiceNow, Helix, CMDB and enterprise tooling.
• Automate processes using Python, PowerShell and APIs.
• Work closely with infrastructure, networking and security teams.

Essential Skills

• Strong Fortinet FortiProxy experience (essential).
• Extensive hands-on Qualys VMDR experience.
• Strong vulnerability management and asset discovery knowledge.
• Enterprise networking experience including TCP/IP, DNS, Routing, VLANs, NAT, Firewalls and VPNs.
• Experience working within large enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with ServiceNow, APIs, Python and/or PowerShell.

Nice to Have

• Telecommunications experience.
• Fortinet NSE/FCP certifications.
• Qualys Certified Specialist.
• CISSP, CISM or similar.
