Location: Sutton (2 -3 days in the office)
Salary/Rate: £400-450 per day inside IR35

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer/Snowflake Administrator to join a global data and technology organisation in Sutton on a hybrid basis.
*Our client specifically requires a Snowflake Administrator who has managed a Snowflake Data Warehouse as an asset for an organisation.
This is not simply a Senior Data Engineer role where Snowflake is one of many technologies.
You must be able to demonstrate hands-on experience administering, managing, supporting and maintaining an enterprise Snowflake environment, rather than simply using Snowflake to develop data pipelines.
You will act as a key technical point of expertise for the organisation's Snowflake Data Warehouse/Data Lakehouse platform, supporting its ongoing operation, optimisation, security and evolution.
If you have been responsible for the day-to-day management and technical ownership of Snowflake as an organisational data platform, this role is particularly relevant.
About the RoleAs a Senior Data Engineer/Snowflake Administrator, you will work across complex data engineering, data platform and software development activities. You will support the existing Data Lakehouse platform while contributing to its continued development and improvement.
Working within an Agile environment, you will collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical and data solutions.
Essential ExperienceSnowflake - Critical
You should have demonstrable experience with:
Snowflake administration
Managing a Snowflake Data Warehouse as an organisational asset
Enterprise Snowflake platform support and maintenance
Snowflake security, access management and roles/RBAC
Performance and query optimisation
Troubleshooting and resolving Snowflake platform issues
Supporting users and development/data engineering teams
Data warehouse/platform management
Contributing to the design and evolution of a Data Lakehouse environment
Key Responsibilities
Act as a primary technical point of expertise for the Snowflake/Data Lakehouse platform.
Manage and support Snowflake as an organisational data warehouse asset.
Administer, maintain and troubleshoot the Snowflake environment.
Support platform performance, optimisation, security and reliability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, including debugging and defect resolution.
Design and review detailed technical specifications for complex system and data components.
Contribute to the design and evolution of complex data models.
Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and data synchronisation pipelines.
Translate complex product requirements into effective software and data designs.
Apply development, coding and security best practices.
Participate in code reviews and Agile development activities.
Work closely with engineering and data teams to support the ongoing evolution of the platform.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
Important: Experience simply using Snowflake as part of a data engineering role is not sufficient. We are looking for someone who has had genuine administration, platform management or ownership responsibility for Snowflake within an organisation.

The PersonWe are looking for someone who combines strong Senior Data Engineering capability with genuine Snowflake platform administration experience.
You will be comfortable taking ownership of complex technical problems, working with engineering and business stakeholders, and acting as the go-to technical expert for the Snowflake/Data Lakehouse environment.
You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable working collaboratively within an Agile team.
