Overview

We are seeking an experienced Signalling Design Engineer to join a high-performing signalling design team within a major telecoms environment.

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge network evolution initiatives, including IMS, legacy voice, and 5G standalone (5GSA), while influencing strategic design decisions across the business.



Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a design authority within signalling-related projects, ensuring optimal delivery outcomes

  • Produce high-level and low-level designs (HLD/LLD) for core voice network platforms

  • Support service design across:

    • IP STP

    • DSC (DRA / DEA)

    • IMS and legacy voice core nodes

  • Contribute to automated testing strategies for 5GSA and legacy networks, improving testing efficiency and call flow validation

  • Perform capacity planning, modelling, and dimensioning across network elements

  • Ensure all designs meet security, fraud, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with vendors to:

    • Produce and review Statements of Requirements (SoR)

    • Assess Statements of Compliance (SoC)

    • Review Scope of Work (SoW) and commercial proposals

  • Support network evolution strategy (1-3 year roadmap) covering hardware, software, and capacity



Required Experience & Skills

  • Strong experience in core network signalling design within telecoms environments

  • Hands-on experience with vendor platforms such as:

    • Ericsson Node solutions

    • Nokia SDM (Subscriber Data Management)

  • Deep understanding of:

    • 2G / 3G / 4G / IMS networks

    • Signalling protocols: SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP, Diameter, MAP

  • Solid knowledge of:

    • Networking principles

    • Traffic engineering and switching

    • Radio and telecoms theory

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts

  • Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines

  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across cross-functional teams
