IDT Trainer
Job summary
The Information and Digital Technologies Training Team provide training on a number of clinical and non-clinical systems across multiple sites within St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for a suitably experienced person to join our team as an IDT Trainer.
Working as part of a close team, the successful applicant will be responsible for delivering IT clinical, desktop and system training to end users Trust-wide and to support training delivery with the creation of user guides and eLearning modules.
Main duties of the job
To deliver IDT training to end users trust-wide on a daily basis.
Post holder will present at staff induction programmes, and to doctors at each changeover.
Assist staff where appropriate on drop-in sessions that are regularly scheduled, responding to users' queries by phone or email when appropriate and assisting with on-line training.
Trainers need to be able to communicate confidently and articulately with large groups of people, in sometimes difficult situations, where the audience may not be receptive or even hostile and antagonistic.
Trainers may need to review and generate new course material as the situation determines.
Test and review applications and identify areas for improvements in their use and functionality.
Ensure that appropriate levels of attention are given to individuals, especially in group situations, where the knowledge of individuals will vary.
Individuals may be required to cover for other team members in case of absences.
Trainers may be required to generate new courses, training material and compile the training schedule for a given period.
To use software such as Captivate or Articulate to create and update E-learning modules.

Job responsibilities
The role of the IDT Trainer is to provide and deliver a range of clinical and non-clinical courses to trust employees and local stakeholders. These sessions will take a variety of formats from ad hoc sessions, individual 1:1 office-based training to larger classroom-based training.
The IDT Trainer takes responsibility for course co-ordination, course content design and documentation, training materials, provision of classroom-led training, lesson planning and training support and be expected to assist in the production of a quarterly training schedule.
To provide support, encourage and assist in the personal development of colleagues.
The role is responsible for ensuring that users of trust IDT systems have the relevant access rights to applications, and that training is given before the rights are assigned.

Training experience and requirements
- Training experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products
- Experience of using NHS clinical systems such as Cerner (iCLIP)
- Experience with using eLearning software such as Adobe Captivate or Microsoft Articulate
- Clinical background/Experience
- Experience of working in the NHS
