IT Support Assistant
Job summary
We are looking for someone who is kind, practical and willing to learn to join our Technology team as an IT Support Assistant. You do not need to arrive knowing everything. You do need to listen carefully, explain things clearly and stay calm when someone needs help. This is not just a role about fixing laptops, passwords and printers. It is about helping employees and volunteers feel confident using the technology they rely on every day. Guided by our values of Kindness, Respect, Innovation and Inclusivity, you will help people with different levels of digital confidence feel supported, included and able to do their work well.
Main duties of the job
Technology is essential to the way we care for patients, support families, work with volunteers and run our services. As part of a small and busy team, your work will make a real difference every day. We can teach systems, processes and technical skills. We cannot teach kindness, curiosity or the ability to make someone feel supported. If you can bring those things, along with attention to detail and the confidence to ask questions when you are not sure, we would like to hear from you. Please do not rule yourself out because you do not meet every desirable criterion. If you have the right attitude, the ability to learn and a commitment to providing a helpful and professional service, this could be the role for you. This is a part-time, fixed-term role (initally for 6 months). The successful candidate will need to be able to work until 5pm on their working days, so that we can provide IT support at the end of the working day. We are happy to discuss how the hours are arranged, including whether they are worked over four or five days each week.
