Senior Lead Developer

Job title: Senior/Lead Developer Location: London, UK Job type: Contract (Inside IR35) About the Role As a Senior or Lead Insurance Developer, you will be responsible for participating in business requirements review meetings, and providing design & solutions on user stories to be implemented on Insurance projects.

You will estimate the development effort during sprint planning meetings, design, develop, unit test, and document new and existing software solutions as per requirements.What will you do? Senior Developer Develop software solutions that meet high-performing technical standards and are created using Insurance best practices.

Focus on leveraging Insurance Tech software platforms, like Guidewire InsuranceSuite.

Configuration of software platforms to meet requirements.

Development of customizations to change or extend the platforms behavior to meet requirements.

Development of integration services.

Digital UX development.

Data Analytics.

Create test data and unit tests to ensure that software solutions meet requirements.

Perform defect triage and fixes during System Testing and User Acceptance Testing.

Ensure non-functional, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements are met for all development activities.

Participate in code reviews and assist in the resolution of technical issues.

Prepare and produce software releases.

Participate in daily standup meetings, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

Contribute to POC to support new opportunities.

Lead Developer All responsibilities of the Senior Insurance Developer, plus: lead and mentor a team of developers.

Provide technical leadership and guidance on best practices.

Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.

Ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

What are we looking for? Senior Developer 5 years of software development experience, including JAVA 5/ J2EE, ReactJS, Web Services, XML, SQL, Gradle, Spring, Hibernate, Castor, REST/ JSON, and Enterprise Messaging System.

Experience with configuration management tools like Git, Tortoise SVN, Source Tree, Perforce, Plastic, and ticket management tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, HPQC.

Knowledge of the AGILE methodology/Scaled Agile Framework, SDLC processes.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Experience in the Insurance domain, preferably in Property & Casualty / General Insurance, is highly desired.

Wider Financial services experience is advantageous.

Experience with Core Insurance COTS (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, tia, etc.) is highly desirable.

Lead Developer 8 years of software development experience, including JAVA 5/ J2EE, ReactJS, Web Services, XML, SQL, Gradle, Spring, Hibernate, Castor, REST/ JSON, and Enterprise Messaging System.
