Job Overview
Stanton House is working with a global distributor of safety products generating approximately £80 million in global revenue. The business is currently growing and looking for a Data Engineer to join their team and take ownership of data architecture.
The business is exploring opportunities to modernise their data environment, including a planned migration to Microsoft Fabric. You will be responsible for designing and building robust data foundations, ensuring accurate, clean, and well-structured data across multiple systems.
The role suits someone who enjoys working independently in a low-complexity, well-balanced environment, with a strong emphasis on thoughtful design and structured delivery rather than rapid experimentation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and manage the organisation’s data architecture, including setting up data lakes from scratch
- Integrate and connect multiple data sources, including ERP (Microsoft Business Central), CRM, and third-party applications
- Ensure data quality through validation, cleansing, and standardisation processes
- Develop and maintain reliable data pipelines and SQL-based data structures
- Support the business by preparing data for reporting and visualisation (report creation will be handled by internal teams)
- Lead the migration and evolution of the data platform towards Microsoft Fabric
- Work independently to define data structures, models, and flows using a logical, structured approach
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand system requirements and data needs
Skills needed:
- Strong experience in data engineering roles
- Proven ability to integrate multiple data sources (ERP, CRM, third-party systems)
- Solid experience with SQL and database design
- Experience building data lakes or similar data platforms from the ground up
- Strong data validation, cleansing, and data quality management skills
- Logical, methodical mindset with a structured, design-first approach
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience working in sales and distribution environments is highly desirable
- Exposure to or interest in Microsoft Fabric or modern data platforms
- Clear and effective communication skills
