Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is undertaking a major transformation to a primarily Azure cloud-based infrastructure, and they're looking for a skilled Azure engineer to play a key role in this exciting journey.

The successful Azure Engineer will work as part of a highly collaborative Cloud Engineering team, driving operational excellence, automation, and compliance across a complex Azure environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and evolve a cloud platform that supports critical business operations and sets new standards for reliability, scalability, and security.

The Azure Infrastructure Engineer, will take ownership of Azure operational processes, ensuring the platform is secure, efficient, and aligned with industry best practice.
The role will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure, Cloud Tech Lead, and cross-functional teams in Architecture, Security, and Development to deliver robust cloud solutions and continuous improvement across the estate.

The role will be hybrid requiring 1 day per week in the clients London office.

Skills & Experience;

• Experience of implementing and managing Azure operational practices.
• Deep technical expertise in Azure services : Azure AD, Networking, Security, and Governance.
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Bicep or ARM templates.
• Sound knowledge of networking technologies (LAN/WAN/MPLS) and Azure connectivity.
• Experience using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and related management tools.
• Experience with Azure services such as: Azure Purview / Policy | Azure Service Bus | Azure Blob Storage | Microsoft Entra | Azure Databricks | Azure Functions | Logic Apps | Dynamics & Lifecycle Service.
• Experience of building and implementing operational controls, policies, and governance for the Azure platform.
• Experience of managing and evolving Azure-based infrastructure across production and development environments.
• Experience of supporting and transitioning new cloud solutions into operational service.
• Experience of monitoring performance and ensuring high availability of key services (including Firewalls and AVD).
• Experience of ensuring compliance with security standards and integrating monitoring tools (e.g. ManageEngine/ITSM).
• Experience of providing technical guidance and knowledge transfer to infrastructure and support teams.
• Strong understanding of security technologies - firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, and compliance.
• Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, etc.) - Desirable.
