AI Engineering Manager (Agentic)

Represented by Stax – DeepTech & AI Talent Partner

Stax is partnering with a venture-backed AI company building advanced virtual agents designed to automate complex operational workflows for enterprise organisations.

Following recent investment and strong early traction, the company is entering an exciting phase of growth and expanding its engineering team to support the next generation of its platform. Revenue increased by 400% in Q4 2025, and the company is targeting a further 4x increase in revenue as it continues to scale.

The leadership team includes engineers and researchers from organisations such as Apple, Oxford University, and Cambridge University, bringing together deep technical expertise and world-class research backgrounds.

Their platform enables organisations to deploy intelligent agents capable of learning, adapting, and executing real operational processes. At the heart of this vision is a platform that allows these agents to be trained, evaluated, and continuously improved as they interact with real-world workflows.

The company is now hiring an AI Engineering Manager (Agentic) to lead the development of this core platform and help define the architecture behind the next generation of intelligent automation systems.

This role will report directly to the CTO and lead a team focused on building and scaling the company’s agent platform.

The Opportunity

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping the systems that enable intelligent agents to learn, evolve, and operate reliably in production environments.

You will work closely with engineering and product leadership to define the technical direction of the platform while leading a team of experienced engineers responsible for building and scaling it.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in defining the architecture behind a rapidly evolving AI platform and to help shape the future of intelligent automation.

Technology Environment

The platform sits at the intersection of AI systems, automation, and scalable platform engineering, typically involving technologies such as:

  • Large language model–driven systems
  • AI-assisted automation and orchestration
  • Intelligent workflow systems
  • Data pipelines and evaluation frameworks
  • Distributed platform architectures

What We’re Looking For

Core Experience

  • Strong experience building complex software platforms or distributed systems
  • Experience working with AI-driven or automation-focused products
  • Ability to define and deliver technical vision for a platform or product area
  • Experience leading or mentoring senior engineering teams
  • A strong systems-thinking and platform engineering mindset

Additional Experience

  • Experience in high-growth technology environments
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale software systems
  • Familiarity with automation, workflow platforms, or AI evaluation approaches

Why This Role Matters

This platform sits at the centre of how the company’s technology evolves.

Every system built and every workflow automated contributes to improving the intelligence and capability of the platform. Building the right architecture will enable the product to scale efficiently while continuously improving over time.

This role offers the opportunity to shape that foundation and have a meaningful impact on the future direction of the technology.
