Data Engineer - Databricks

We're supporting a rapidly growing organisation that is investing heavily in its data and AI capabilities. As part of a wider Salesforce and Analytics transformation programme, they're looking to hire an experienced Data Engineer to help shape and expand their modern data ecosystem.

This is an opportunity to join a business that sees data as a strategic asset, with significant investment being made across analytics, automation, AI and enterprise systems. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering the data foundations that enable smarter decision-making across the organisation

Salary: £45-55k

The Opportunity

You'll be responsible for developing and enhancing a cloud-based data platform, ensuring data is accessible, trusted and ready to support reporting, advanced analytics and emerging AI initiatives. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you'll help bring together data from multiple systems, improve data quality, and establish scalable engineering practices that support long-term growth. This role would suit someone who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with broader data platform ownership and enjoys solving complex integration and transformation challenges

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain robust data pipelines that support business-critical reporting and analyst
  • Build scalable solutions for ingesting, transforming and managing large datasets.
  • Consolidate information from multiple source systems into a centralised data environment
  • Support data integration activities arising from acquisitions, mergers and system changes
  • Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data is structured and optimised for reporting and insight generation.
  • Implement data validation, monitoring and quality controls throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Contribute to best practices around testing, governance and documentation
  • Partner with internal teams and third-party suppliers to deliver projects using Agile methodology
  • Help establish a reliable and scalable platform capable of supporting future AI and automation initiatives

What We're Looking for

  • Proven experience working as a Data Engineer within a modern cloud data environment
  • Strong experience with Databricks or similar cloud-native data platforms
  • Expertise in SQL and Python, with experience working with large-scale data processing technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and delivering production-grade data solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data transformation, modelling and optimisation principles.
  • Experience migrating and consolidating data from multiple legacy applications.
  • Ability to work closely with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to Salesforce or customer data platforms
  • Experience supporting business intelligence and visualisation tools
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning or automation-driven data initiatives
  • Experience operating within a complex multi-team environment undergoing transformation
