Data Engineer - Talend/Oracle RDS

Max Day Rate:£469/day, Inside IR35, flexible for the right candidate
Duration:6 months
Location:Mostly remote (Telford - occasional workshops a few days per month)
Security Clearance:SC required

Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a growing team delivering critical CRS/FATCA data solutions. The role focuses on Talend and Oracle RDS systems within existing Talend frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain design documentation.
• Develop project artefacts including Talend jobs, Oracle DDL/SQL, and GitLab pipeline enhancements.
• Review, capture, and critique project requirements.
• Investigate and resolve defects/issues during testing.
• Review colleagues' development and test artefacts.
• Support production promotion and warranty support.
• Document risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID logs).
• Conduct component testing and create test data.
• Support QA in testing and debugging throughout the development lifecycle.
• Create and execute test packs for component test automation.
• Support performance testing phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance.
• Report to Lead Engineer and participate in scrum-of-scrum discussions.

Skills/Experience:

• SC clearance.
• ETL experience: Talend preferred; Pentaho/Informatica transferable.
• Experience with Oracle RDS.
• Hybrid role: occasional workshops at Telford site.
