User Researcher - Government (Remote - 2 Days On-Site)

Rate:£350 - £400 per day (Inside IR35)
Location:Mostly Remote, with visits to Telford twice a month
Duration:6 months

We are looking for aUser Researcherto support all phases of work for aGovernment Digital Service (GDS)project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major government digital service and work alongside a dynamic team, while influencing key decisions with robust data insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis:Collaborate with Performance Analysts to interpret performance data from digital journeys, support channels, and other sources.
• Research Design & Experimentation:Design and conduct A/B tests and controlled experiments to evaluate service changes, ensuring statistical validity and actionable results.
• Qualitative Integration & Triangulation:Integrate qualitative insights with quantitative findings to ensure multi-source evidence for decision-making.
• Reporting & Communication:Produce concise weekly reports and dashboards for senior stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
• Governance & Best Practices:Ensure compliance with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and ethical research practices while advocating for evidence-based decision-making.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience inquantitative researchin auser-centred designorpublic sectorcontext.
• Experience working withPerformance Analystsand national-scale services.
• Skilled in designing and implementingA/B experimentsand interpreting results.
• Familiarity withqualitative research methodsand integrating them into a quantitative framework.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner for senior stakeholders.
