Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AWS cloud architectures aligned with government digital and security standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across cloud migration, application modernisation, and platform engineering initiatives.
• Define and implement scalable, resilient, and highly available cloud solutions.
• Produce architecture artefacts including HLDs, LLDs, diagrams, and technical roadmaps.
• Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Implement cloud security controls aligned with NCSC and public sector compliance requirements.
• Conduct architecture reviews, risk assessments, and technical governance activities.
• Optimise AWS environments for performance, security, resilience, and cost efficiency.
• Support containerisation and orchestration strategies using Kubernetes or ECS.
• Mentor engineering teams and promote cloud best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, delivery managers, business analysts, and product owners.

• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Deep knowledge of core AWS services including:

  • ECS/EKS
  • CloudFront
  • Route 53
  • API Gateway
  • CloudWatch
  • SNS/SQS
• Experience designing multi-account AWS landing zones.
• Strong understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
