AppDynamics SME - Active SC Needed

We are seeking an experienced AppDynamics SME to join a large-scale enterprise programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, optimising, and governing the AppDynamics monitoring estate across multiple environments. You will act as the central technical authority for AppDynamics, supporting delivery teams, triaging defects, and ensuring high-quality observability across critical applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain alerting aligned to business and technical requirements within AppDynamics.

• Configure, deploy, and tune Health Rules, dashboards, and monitoring policies in lower and production environments.

• Triage AppDynamics issues across environments, providing root cause analysis and recommendations.

• Own the full defect management life cycle for AppDynamics-from initial triage through to production fix.

• Act as the primary technical point of contact with Cisco for AppDynamics-related issues or escalations.

• Serve as the AppDynamics SME across the client landscape, providing guidance to cross-functional delivery teams.

• Integrate AppDynamics monitoring across a wide range of applications, services, and environments.

• Establish and maintain governance mechanisms to track and manage frequently triggered Health Rules.

• Ensure monitoring standards, processes, and configurations are consistent across teams and environments.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an AppDynamics SME, APM Engineer, or Observability Specialist.

• Hands-on experience configuring Health Rules, Dashboards, Alerts, and Business Transactions.

• Strong understanding of APM, performance monitoring, and telemetry pipelines.

• Experience supporting complex, multi-tier enterprise applications.

• Ability to troubleshoot application performance issues using AppDynamics tools.

• Experience liaising with vendors (Cisco/AppDynamics).

• Solid understanding of SDLC, incident management, and defect life cycle processes.

• Ability to work with engineering, DevOps, and architecture teams to integrate monitoring requirements.

• SC Clearance (essential due to production access requirements).
