DevOps Engineer - Active SC Required

Overview

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong AWS and Terraform expertise to support the delivery and optimisation of cloud infrastructure within a secure government environment.

You'll be part of a multidisciplinary technical team, responsible for automating deployments, improving platform resilience, and ensuring compliance with security and performance standards.

This role requires hands-on cloud engineering skills, deep infrastructure-as-code experience, and the ability to work within a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform.

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment and release processes.

• Collaborate with developers, architects, and security teams to deliver high-quality, reliable services.

• Implement infrastructure monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, or Grafana.

• Ensure infrastructure follows DevSecOps principles, GDS, and security compliance standards.

• Manage configuration and secrets using tools such as AWS Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, or Vault.

• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues in production and non-production environments.

• Contribute to improving automation, tooling, and documentation across the delivery life cycle.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory).

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer working with AWS cloud environments.

• Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform (infrastructure as code).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (eg, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline).

• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes).

• Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, security groups, and VPCs in AWS.

• Experience working within Agile and DevSecOps delivery environments.
