Java Developer
Rate: £550/day (Inside IR35)
Clearance: SC Cleared (mandatory - vetting will extend onboarding timelines)
Location: Remote, with occasional visits to Croydon

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications and services
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented code following best practice
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and developers on requirements
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues
• Participate in code reviews for quality and maintainability
• Optimise application performance and scalability
• Integrate APIs, third-party services, and databases
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes

Required Skills

• Strong Java (Core Java, Java SE/EE)
• Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data)
• RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
• Git version control
• OOP principles and design patterns
• Maven or Gradle
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Desirable

• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD pipelines
• Front End basics (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Agile/Scrum experience
