Role Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Developer to join a Local Data Capture (LDC) capability within a large, business-critical government system supporting the Self Assessment tax regime. This role suits someone with a strong core development background who's keen to learn and work within a complex Legacy estate, supporting ongoing delivery and stability of critical services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support LDC components within the wider platform estate
- Contribute to delivery of changes, ensuring quality and stability across releases
- Investigate and resolve defects and production issues
- Work closely with Delivery Managers and service teams to align development with delivery and live service priorities
- Adhere to established processes, controls and standards within a Legacy environment
- Actively build knowledge of the LDC platform and associated technologies
Requirements:
- Strong general development background with willingness to learn Legacy technologies
- Experience or exposure to: VB6, Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0, NuMega DevPartner Studio, VB6 ActiveX Components, VBA
- Experience with integration and tooling: SOAP Toolkits, Team Foundation Server (TFS), XML, Edge, ISSO
- Experience in controlled, production-critical environments beneficial
Desirable:
- exposure to (or willingness to learn) GovRules Client, GovRules Integrated Design Environment, GovRules Native Language (Java-derived)
