Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Network Architect to design and govern secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures for the financial services sector across hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.

The role focuses on network segmentation, Firewall architecture, routing, containment strategies, and resilience design to ensure secure connectivity and operational stability. You will work closely with security, identity, and infrastructure teams to ensure network designs align with Zero Trust and cyber resilience principles, supporting critical banking technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop secure network architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments within a banking/financial services context.

• Define network segmentation, Firewall rulesets, and isolation patterns across multiple security zones.

• Implement cyber containment strategies enabling rapid isolation of compromised systems and reducing blast radius during incidents.

• Design and oversee routing, load balancing, VPN connectivity, private connectivity, and secure edge architectures.

• Ensure governance and architectural assurance of network changes through design reviews and compliance checks.

• Collaborate with Security, Identity, and Infrastructure teams to align network design with Zero Trust architecture principles.

• Conduct capacity planning, performance optimisation, and network telemetry integration.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in enterprise network architecture and secure connectivity design in financial services or regulated industries.

• Expertise with Firewalls, WAFs, proxies, network monitoring, packet inspection, and micro-segmentation.

• Experience designing complex network topologies such as hub-and-spoke, mesh, SD-WAN, and private endpoint architectures.

• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud networking and enterprise VPN solutions.

• Experience with routing protocols, load balancing, and secure connectivity patterns.

• Familiarity with network security frameworks, resilience standards, and compliance best practices.

Ideal Candidate

• Extensive experience in enterprise network or security architecture roles in the financial services industry.

• Strong background designing secure and resilient networks for critical banking infrastructure.

• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments with a focus on operational continuity.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with security, infrastructure, and architecture teams to deliver robust, compliant, and resilient network solutions.
