Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Integration Architect with a strong background in SAP S/4HANA and Coupa to lead the design and delivery of global integrations for indirect procurement. This role involves working across complex enterprise environments, ensuring seamless data and process integration from design through to cutover and hypercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of integrations between Coupa and SAP S/4HANA
- Develop and manage APIs (REST/JSON, OData), IDocs, and BAPIs, including schema design, error handling, and performance optimisation
- Configure Coupa for integration scenarios, including:
- Supplier and ERP integrations
- Master data synchronisation
- Chart of Accounts (COA) and segment structures
- Approvals, tax, receiving, invoicing, and payment status updates
- Work with SAP S/4HANA Procurement (MM) and Finance (FI-AP) processes, including:
- Business partners/vendors
- Purchasing organisations and purchase orders
- Goods receipts, service entry sheets, and invoices
- GL, cost centres, WBS elements, and tax determination
- Implement and manage integrations using Middleware platforms such as SAP Integration Suite (CPI), MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Azure Integration Services
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to translate complex integration requirements into scalable solutions
- Support integration monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimisation across environments
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and integration deployment strategies
Required Skills & ExperienceTechnical Expertise
- Strong API engineering experience (REST, OData) with OpenAPI/Swagger specifications
- Hands-on experience with SAP integration technologies:
- IDocs (vendor, PO, GR, invoice)
- BAPI/RFC, ALE, OData services
- Coupa integration configuration experience:
- Master and transactional data flows
- Supplier integrations
- File-based (SFTP) and API-based integrations
- Experience with integration platforms (eg, SAP CPI, MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services)
- Knowledge of security protocols (OAuth2, mTLS, certificates, key management)
- Monitoring and observability tools (eg, dashboards, logging, alerting, traceability)
- CI/CD practices (Git, versioning, automated deployments)
Functional Knowledge
- Strong understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable (AP) processes
- Experience across both indirect and direct procurement workflows
- Familiarity with upstream/downstream systems (eg, MDG, ITSM platforms)
Delivery & Tools
- Experience managing large-scale integration programmes across multiple phases
- Familiarity with ALM and project tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar
- Experience with interface testing and automation
