Senior Data Scientist (SC Cleared) | £600 per day (Inside IR35) | Remote | 6 Months+
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join a high-profile public sector programme, helping shape and deliver AI-driven solutions that create real impact.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Data Scientist with strong experience across Machine Learning, Generative AI, LLMs and data-driven experimentation. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams to identify AI opportunities, build and evaluate prototypes, and provide evidence-based recommendations to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct AI discovery, research and feasibility assessments
- Identify AI opportunities through data analysis and business process evaluation
- Develop, test and evaluate AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI solutions
- Design evaluation frameworks and performance benchmarks
- Produce technical findings and actionable recommendations
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and business stakeholders
- Contribute to reusable AI frameworks, accelerators and best practices
- Support Responsible AI, governance and assurance activities
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
- Knowledge of Generative AI, Prompt Engineering and AI experimentation
- Experience working with LLMs, RAG architectures and model evaluation techniques
- Advanced data analysis, visualisation and statistical modelling skills
- Understanding of AI life cycle management and delivery practices
- Knowledge of data governance and Responsible AI principles
- Experience with cloud-based AI platforms and services
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
