Must Have Government Experience

As an Architect, you will:

  • Design technical solutions (products and services) to meet user needs and align with organisational architecture strategy and standards.

  • Provide a consistent set of solution views that communicate and describe the construction of the solution to all stakeholders.

  • Champion solution communication, making complex concepts simple to understand.

  • Support the delivery team, blending technical (development and architecture) and behavioural (leadership and communication) skills to achieve team goals.

Responsibilities within the role

Your responsibilities for this role include, but are not restricted to the following:

  • Deliver the architecture design elements of the solution in compliance with organisational services and standards.

  • Work with engineering teams and other digital stakeholders to create value-for-money (VFM) solution designs.

  • Ensure technical quality and adherence of solution designs to architecture principles, standards, patterns and practices, Enterprise Architecture and Product Roadmaps.

  • Identify, capture, share, and implement architecture patterns.

Person specification:

We are seeking a highly experienced candidate with:

  • Architecture design and modelling techniques, patterns, tools and standards.

  • Microservice and API-led architecture and integration design tools, techniques and best practice.

  • Event-based architecture design, patterns (including pub-sub and data streaming), modelling techniques, tools and standards.

  • Public cloud technologies, cloud hosting, container and networking design patterns, tools and best practice (eg Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).

  • Agile delivery methodologies and best practice.

  • DevOps: Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) delivery methodologies, tools and best practice.

  • Experience presenting architecture designs to technical governance forums.

  • Experience shaping and supporting technology initiatives, projects, programmes and portfolios.

  • Strong technical authoring skills, particularly for the production of technical design and specification documents.
