Cloud Engineer

We are recruiting for a Cloud Engineer to join a leading consultancy in the UK operating across UK Government, Defence, Banking, Retail, Energy and Utilities. This will be a remote role with occasional, expensed travel. Locations available in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow.

As a Cloud Engineer , you will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure while driving automation and efficiency through DevOps best practices. You will work closely with architects and development teams, supporting the implementation of modern CI/CD pipelines, ensuring reliability, security, and performance across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects and cross-functional teams to implement CI/CD automation tailored to project needs.
  • Manage infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and monitoring using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Foster a DevOps culture and support clients in adopting modern engineering practices.
  • Provide operational support, including application monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Conduct system tests to ensure performance, availability, and security.
  • Share expertise with colleagues through mentoring, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives such as proposal development, innovation campaigns, thought leadership, and community building.

Your Profile

To be considered, you must be eligible to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance or already be holding active SC Clearance. You should also bring:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong background in DevOps processes and modern development workflows
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
  • Proficiency with containerisation and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Grafana, CloudWatch, Dynatrace)
  • Knowledge of configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or Packer)
  • Scripting ability (Bash/Shell or similar)
  • Understanding of agile delivery and collaborative team environments
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
