Managing Consultant Design Strategist
- Salary - up to £88,000 per annum + Bonus
- Remote with occasional client visits
- Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance
Job Details:
You’ll lead and develop multidisciplinary design teams, driving high standards, innovation, and best practice across the design community.
You’ll play a key role in defining product vision and strategy, ensuring solutions are grounded in user insight while aligning with business goals. Alongside delivery, you’ll help identify opportunities for innovation, champion accessibility and inclusive design, and support the integration of emerging technologies like AI in a responsible, user-focused way.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and guide product and service strategy using research and data-led insights
- Align teams around clear goals, design direction, and delivery outcomes
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement across digital experiences
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (design, product, engineering)
- Ensure high-quality, accessible, and scalable design outputs
Client & Business Impact
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and advocate for design value
- Support business growth through bids, proposals, and client engagements
- Contribute to external thought leadership and industry presence
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of designers across multiple disciplines
- Foster an inclusive, high-performing, and collaborative culture
- Support hiring, capability development, and career progression
- Help evolve design operations and ways of working
Your Background
- Strong experience in design and research, with leadership responsibility
- Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
- Background in consulting, agency, or complex delivery environments
- Experience scaling design practices and improving operational processes
- Comfortable working in agile, cross-functional teams
