Managing Consultant – Public Sector Transformation | Strategy

We are partnering with one of the world’s leading global consultancies, currently delivering large-scale transformation programmes for a major UK government organisation.

This government department is undergoing significant change, with a strong focus on delivering measurable value, modernising services, and leveraging emerging technologies — including Artificial Intelligence (AI).

As part of this growth, we are seeking a Managing Consultant to play a key role in shaping transformation strategies, expanding service offerings, and driving innovation across complex, high-impact programmes.

Please note, the role requires client visits in Telford up to twice a month.

The Role

This is a senior, client-facing position suited to a strategic thinker with strong consultancy experience and a passion for driving change.

Whether your background is in Product Management or Business Analysis, you will be instrumental in influencing outcomes, growing client relationships, and delivering tangible value.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Consultancy Leadership – Act as a trusted advisor, solving complex challenges and delivering impactful strategic solutions
  • Business Development – Identify new opportunities, build client relationships, and contribute to portfolio growth
  • Stakeholder Management – Engage and influence senior stakeholders across complex environments
  • Opportunity Creation – Leverage networks and market insight to open new avenues for growth
  • Growth & Sales – Support bid activity and contribute to a high-performance, commercially focused culture
  • Cultural Transformation – Mentor colleagues, shape delivery models, and drive innovation internally
  • Client Value Delivery – Ensure all engagements deliver measurable outcomes aligned to client goals

About You

We’re looking for a dynamic and entrepreneurial consultant who thrives in complex environments and is passionate about transformation.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in consulting, product management, or business analysis (8-10 years minimum)
  • Strong track record in business development and stakeholder engagement
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to influence at senior levels
  • Experience mentoring and developing talent
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and build new opportunities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be eligible for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
  • If you have lived outside the UK in the past 3 years, additional checks may be required
