Production Operative
Do you enjoy the PC Gaming world, have a keen interest in the technology, and involve yourself in hardware and software in your home gaming rig? Do you find assembling and troubleshooting your home PC a rewarding challenge? If so, we are currently looking for a Production Operative to join our busy team in Redditch, Worcestershire!
Hours of Work: 38 hours per week, Mon—Thurs 7:30 to 16:00. Friday 7:30 to 13:30.
Role Summary
As one of our valued Production Team Members, our Production Operatives play a crucial role in the success of our business. Using your experience of your personal home computer you will be assembling industrial computer-based products to the highest quality standards, interpret technical documentation and drawings, communicate any technical issues, and learn additional technical skills such as soldering and cable assembly for different areas of the business as required. The role will introduce you to a variety of computer solutions from single simple panel all in one units to multiple quantities of server rack units through to specific high level bespoke solutions. This role is not only about meeting expectations but exceeding them, implementing innovative methods to deliver value in your contributions.
What we will need from you:
- Understanding of bespoke computer hardware components.
- Working knowledge of windows operating systems and applications.
- A high level of manual dexterity required.
- A flexible and adaptable approach to workload.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective teamwork.
- An eagerness to learn, progress, and develop a broad range of product knowledge.
- A good level of physical fitness for handling the physical aspects of the role.
- An interest in IT
Useful Additional Expertise
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Basic knowledge of component configuration including BIOS (AMI, Phoenix and others) or UEFI configuration and software configuration (Windows O/S).
- Basic understanding of mechanical assembly.
- Ability to solder and/or experience in cable harnessing.
- Experience of using power tools.
- Ability to read and understand work, process and technical documentation and drawings including computer technology schematics.
