They specialise in authentic Italian gelato, handcrafted using traditional recipes and high-quality ingredients. Alongside their award-worthy gelato, they serve barista coffee, waffles, milkshakes, sundaes and a variety of desserts. As a growing and innovative business, they are investing in digital technologies to enhance the manufacturing and stock management processes.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Application Development Intern to support the team in data preparation, testing and building the final stages of the business' bespoke in-house batch traceability and stock management application. As an intern you will run testing on the new live data and identify any areas for development to be implemented before the application is fully rolled out.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student or graduate to gain hands-on experience working on a real digital transformation project within a growing food manufacturing business. You will play a key role in preparing the system for rollout, testing functionality, validating business data, and helping shape the future development of the application.
Key Responsibilities
- Input, organise and validate stock, ingredient and recipe data within the application.
- Create and maintain ingredient, ingredient lot and recipe databases.
- Test the application's functionality using live business data.
- Identify issues, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Document testing outcomes, findings and recommendations.
- Support the implementation of enhancements and refinements.
- Work closely with company directors to provide usability feedback.
- Assist with the rollout of new digital processes.
- Present final findings and recommendations to the management team.

What we're looking for
We welcome applications from students or recent graduates studying: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science/Analytics, Business Management with IT or related disciplines

Support Available
You'll receive ongoing support throughout the internship from the company's directors and will be provided with the appropriate hardware required to complete the project successfully. This internship can be completed full time for 4 weeks (around 37.5 hours a week) or part time around your studies for 6 weeks (around 25 hours a week).
